Those who eat, do.

Food is a huge issue with children, especially young gymnasts. The typically child who comes though our doors at Bull City Gymnastics doesn't care about eating. She wants to play! If a child refuses to eat their lunch, you can reach them a couple ways.

The easiest method is by asking nicely. To younger girls, I'll say, "Please eat at least a few bites. For me?"
Only a soulless child will turn you down.

The boys pushing away their vegetables respond well to promises of big muscles. For example, "This is what you eat to get big muscles like the older boys!"

For the stubborn ones, plain and simple you can tell them, "If you don't eat your lunch, I won't let you come out and play with us." Mention all the exciting things they can do after they eat that sandwich! It works every time.

There's no need to try all these if you know your students (or your children) and their personalities.
